FERRIDAY – Services for Matthew Arnold “Matt” Whitehead, 19, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, in Shreveport, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Stan Wyant officiating.
Burial will follow at Lismore Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Matt was born Oct. 10, 1988, in Natchez, the son of Tracy Hale and Allan Whitehead. He was a 2007 graduate of Vidalia High School and was attending Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez. He was employed with Sonny’s Pizza in Ferriday.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Donna Whitehead.
Survivors include one daughter, Addison Grace; his parents; stepfather, Tommy Hale; stepmother, Liz Whitehead; grandparents, Sonny and Dot Champion and Thomas and Peggy Hale; three sisters, Monica Davenport, Brittany McEntyre and Caitlin McEntyre; three uncles, Tojo “Unc” Champion, Ricky Whitehead and wife, Carolyn, and Eddie Whitehead and wife, Connie; and two aunts, Melissa “Giga” Watts and husband, Jimmy, and Kathy Whitehead.
Pallbearers will be Dex Cullpepper, Bo Cullpepper, David Watts, Trey Lilly, John Dale Loomis and Lanny Bass.
Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy Champion, Bo Champion, Junior Price, Uncle Larry Champion, Uncle Wayne Martin, Jeff Steers, Albia Steers, Kevin Steers, Robbie Martin, Ritchie Martin, Jimmy Watts Sr., Braxton Whitehead, Scott Whitehead, Dustin Grey and Israel Stewart.
