VIDALIA — Local fire authorities responded to two major fires Wednesday.
The first fire, located at a residence on Townsend Lane, near Ferriday, burned the house to the ground. The owner was not present at the time.
Concordia Fire District No. 2 responded to the blaze, which was described as “fully involved.”
The second fire, at T&J Small Engine on U.S. 84 West, burned much of the interior of the building and slowed traffic as authorities blocked one lane of the highway.
The Vidalia Fire Department and Ridgecrest Fire Department initially responded to the call, and Concordia Fire District No. 2 assisted on the scene.
