NATCHEZ — Services for Gretchen Hess, 92, of Natchez, who died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at the Promise Specialty Hospital in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor and Rev. Charles Bucciantini officiating.
Burial will follow in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 6 p.m. at St. Mary Basilica, a rosary will be said at 6 p.m.
Miss Hess loved life and every new day was beautiful gift from God. She truly never met a stranger.
She was born Sep. 28, 1915, in Natchez to Charles Philip and Mamie Burke Hess. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two nephews, once sister-in-law and one brother-in-law.
Survivors include two sisters; Alleon H. Bucciantini, of Natchez, Carlotta H. Breithaupt and her husband Maxwell, of Natchez; four nephews, ten nieces and a large number of great nieces and nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Fred W. Hess, John M. Bucciantini Jr., Charles Bucciantini II, Karl Hess, Bill Bucciantini and Graham Bucciantini.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be sent to Catholic Charities of Natchez or a charity of your choice.
