Roberts takes Concordia Bass win

The Concordia Bass Club had its monthly event February 9 on Lake Concordia near Ferriday under a sunny sky with the water 55-60 degrees and the air 54-72.

Eddie Roberts of Ferriday won with a very impressive 20.76 jig limit anchored by the 6.25 lunker of both the day and 2008 year.

Randy Pitre of Vidalia was a strong second with a 19.40 limit while John “Team Go-Mart” Bruce of Vidalia took third with a 14.95 limit.

Others with multiple fish included: Jr. Book (14.54 limit, 4.35qb), Ricky “Team Nikki’s Restaurant” Gillespie (13.49 limit); Ronnie Gillespie (11.51 limit), Johnny Davis (11.36 limit), Tim Houghton (10.13 limit), Danny “Team Triton” Smith (9.76 limit), Rae Ladner (9.53, 5.55 qb), John Gillespie (8.19 limit), Doug Gillespie (4 for 7.84), Clyde Morace (4 for 7.34), Doug Schexnayder (3 for 7.22, 3.53qb on jigs), Eric Hayes (4 for 6.94), Alan Brumfield ( 4 for 5.20) and Jim Goldman ( 3 for 4.61).

The 29 anglers and 3 guests fooled about 70 bass but only 9 limits and 7 zips in the Concordia Bass Club tournament.
