NATCHEZ — A single-vehicle accident in which a pick-up truck ran off the road near the bridge at Foster Mound Road and Muddy Fork Road resulted in a fatality.

The driver, Roy Bass, 66, of 288 Church Hill Road, was last seen Sunday morning at 1 a.m. and was reported missing Monday afternoon by his family, Adams County Sheriff Ronny Brown said.

Around the time the missing persons report was made, Brown said a call came in from someone who had walked over the bridge and saw the car off the side of the road.

Bass’s body has been taken by Adams County Coroner James Lee to Jackson for an autopsy, since it was a day and a half before he was found, Brown said.

Brown said as far as the sheriff’s office could tell, it was an accident.
