NATCHEZ – Services for Gershom Terzell Mason, 18, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Baptist Church, in Selma, with the Rev. Ernest Ford Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Popular Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church, in Fayette, under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Gershom was born Sept. 5, 1989, in Natchez, the son of Jerald Mason. He attended Natchez-Adams School District. He enjoyed basketball, music and video games. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his mother; adopted parent, Jessie “grandma” Singleton; two brothers, Kyrikus and Rashuad Mason; grandmother, Shirley Evans; great-grandmother, Lurenda Singleton; grandfather, Clarence Singleton Sr. and wife, Rebecca,; six aunts, Petrina Cooks, Lisa R. Singleton and Urusela King, all of Natchez; Torris R. Singleton of Chicago, Erika and Loretha King , both of Minnesota; five uncles, Zachary and Lawrence Mason, both of Natchez, Alex King of Minnesota, Clarence A. Singleton of Jackson and Dejuan T. Singleton of Akron, Ohio; 11 great-aunts, Rose Mason and Hazel Sykes, both of Kankakee, Ill., Alice King, Florence Pickett, Linda Ross, Betty McDonald, Claudia Evans, Sandra Bruce, Angela Evans, all of Natchez, D’Ella Bell and Dorothy King , both of Tennessee, and Connie Taylor of South Carolina; seven great-uncles, McArthur Mason, Tommie Evans, Chris and Charles Singleton, all of Natchez, Ricky Mason of Jonesville, Alex Mason Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska, and Willie Evans of Brookhaven; a number of relatives and friends; and an extended family, Jerry and Pam Jones.
