GLOSTER – Services for Jane F. Aldridge, who died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at Field Memorial Community Hospital after an extended illness, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Odus Jackson officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Aldridge was born Aug. 23, 1910, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Archibald A. Fairly and Elizabeth Lamb Fairly. She was a homemaker. In her more active years, she served as a member of Charles Anderson Presbyterian Church, the Joy Club, the Garden Club and the Pink Lady Auxiliary at Field Memorial Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of many years, A. C. Aldridge; one son, W.D. “Billy” Aldridge Sr.; four siblings, Monroe and Hugh Fairly, Edna F. Goeghegan and Helen F. Stainton; two daughters-in-law, Sherry Robertson Aldridge and Catherine Lewis Aldridge.
Survivors include one son, J.A. “Jimmy” Aldridge; one daughter, Margaret A. Hill and husband, Edgar Y. “Eddy,” all of Gloster; seven grandsons, Dale Aldridge and wife, Melanie C., Mark Aldridge and wife, Joyce J., Tony Aldridge and wife, Melloanie R., all of Gloster, Mike Aldridge and wife, Marcie P., both of McComb, Gary Aldridge and wife, Mary C., both of Monroe, La., W.D. “Dave” Aldridge Jr. and wife, Jennifer, both of Lafayette, La., Jeff Aldridge and wife, Christa A., and Rebecca E. Hill, all of New Orleans, Shannon H. Mangiapane of Metairie and Sharon Robin Hill of Jackson; 11 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Casey, Brandon, Raven, Aston, Walt, Mary Jane, Josh, Billy and Emma Grace.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
