VIDALIA — Police responded to a Vidalia shooting Tuesday night in which one man sustained injuries.

Quincy Hawkins, 20, was shot in the hindquarters in front of his residence at 103 Gillispie St., his mother Phronel Hawkins said.

Quincy Hawkins was transported to the Natchez Regional Medical center for treatment.

Witnesses on the scene said several shots were fired.

The matter is under investigation.
