CENTREVILLE – Graveside services for Richard “Dickie” Whetstone, 68, of Centreville, who died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at Field Memorial Hospital, in Centreville, will be at 10 a.m. today at Oaklawn Cemetery with Dr. Dennis Johnsey officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Centreville.
Mr. Whetstone was born June 23, 1939, in Centreville, the son of James Robert and Opal Coke Whetstone. He was a retired crew leader for the U.S. Forestry Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Robert Whetstone.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Whetstone; two sons, Ronnie Whetstone and wife, Teresa, and Gary Whetstone and wife, Cathy, all of Centreville; two sisters; two brothers; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
