ST. JOSEPH, La. – Services for Junius Evans Jr., 90, of St. Joseph, La., who died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at noon Sunday at China Grove Baptist Church, in St. Joseph, with the Rev. Benjamin Battle officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Evans was born Aug. 13, 1917, in St. Joseph, the son of Junius and Rebecca Perkins Evans. He was a retired logger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and all his siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Alfredia Walker Evans; two daughters, Linda Evans of Porterville, Calif., and Hazel Evans and John; 15 sons, Wilbert Evans and wife, Betsy, Elsy Evans and Julius W. Evans and wife, Patricia, all of Las Vegas; Junius Evans III, James Evans and wife, Ruthie, all of St. Joseph, Calvin Evans of Natchez, Clifton Evans and wife, Glenda, both of Monroe, Isaac Evans, Terry Evans and wife, Angela, Charles Evans and wife, Michelle, and Reginald Evans, all of Houston, Larry Evans and wife, Ursula, both of Missouri City, Texas, Oliver Evans and wife, Shelia, both of Waterproof, La., Curtis Evans and wife, Janet, both of Chicago, and Mark Evans of Alvin, Texas; and a number of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
