NATCHEZ — On Feb. 22, Jaquela Lyles, 32, 22 Gaylor Road was arrested when she attempted to bring a concealed weapon into an Adams County courtroom.

Sheriff Ronny Brown said when Lyles went through a security checkpoint it was discovered she had a .25-caliber semi-automatic pistol in her purse.

Brown said Lyles was at the juvenile courthouse to attend a hearing.

Judge John Hudson was presiding over the hearing.

While Lyles’ motives are unknown Hudson said instances like the one involving Lyles are rare at the courthouse.

Lyles was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
