Britton & Koontz promotes Thomas, Hammons at bank

NATCHEZ — W. Page Ogden, President and CEO of Britton & Koontz Bank, has announced that David Thomas has been promoted to vice president and controller and Karen Hammons has been promoted to assistant vice president and investment consultant.
Thomas joined B&K in 1999 with B&K’s acquisition of the Natchez branches of Union Planters Bank, and in his 11 years of banking has served as head teller, accounting officer and assistant controller. He is a graduate of Pine Hills Academy in Gloster, a 1997 graduate of William Carey College in Hattiesburg and a 2006 graduate of the Mississippi School of Banking at the University of Mississippi.
Hammons joined B&K in 1993 and has held the positions of mortgage loan assistant, trust officer and licensed investment assistant throughout her 16 years of banking.
A graduate of Southern Trust School, she attended Northwestern State University and Alcorn State University and became a registered securities representative in 2004.
She also holds her life insurance license. In her new capacity, she will continue to work with Vice President Donna Lindley.
She is a graduate of Leadership Natchez and serves on the board of the Sunshine Children’s Center.
Married to Brian Hammons, they attend Parkway Baptist Church.
