LAKE ST. JOHN — A late night fire consumed a Lake St. John house early Monday morning.

Concordia Fire District No. 2 responded to the blaze at 5792 Louisiana 569 at approximately 12:30 a.m.

When firefighters reached the blaze at the north end of the lake near the Tensas Parish line the house was completely consumed by the flames.

Along with the house, the fire also destroyed two vehicles.

A corrugated metal shed and fishing boat were all that remained intact after the fire.

One of the victims, an elderly woman, received burns, and there were reports another victim may have broken ribs escaping the blaze, fire district officials said.

A cause for the fire has not yet been determined, officials said.
