NATCHEZ — A short-lived crime spree did not pan out very well for one local man.

Sean Timmons, 23, 6 Grafton Circle, was arrested on Thursday morning and charged with burglary of a dwelling and three counts of auto burglary.

Adams County Sheriff’s deputy Maj. Jody Waldrop said Timmons’ late night crime spree came to an end when he was arrested at his home, asleep on the sofa.

Waldrop said the sheriff’s office was initially called when one of Timmons’ family members noticed he had a pistol and a large amount of change that did not belong to him.

The same suspicious relative then went to inspect a storage unit on the property.

Inside the storage unit they found a 42-inch plasma television and a welding machine.

Waldrop said shortly after the relative placed the first call three additional calls concerning auto burglaries came into the sheriff’s office.

When deputies went to the Timmons home, Sean was found asleep on the sofa with .9mm pistol.

During the course of their investigation deputies learned the television and the welding machine were stolen from a home at 5 Grafton Circle.

The owner of 5 Grafton Circle was not home during the burglary.

Timmons allegedly took other items such as a chain saw and an air compressor from the house but simply left them outside the residence, Waldrop said.

Waldrop said stereo equipment was stolen from all three of the burglarized vehicles.

Sheriff’s deputies were able to return the stolen property to their rightful owners.

Sheriff Ronny Brown said Timmons was convicted of stealing an all-terrain vehicle in 2003.

Instead of jail time, Timmons was sent to drug court, which he graduated from in 2007.
