President Bush is someone to be proud of

I was disturbed when I read the Feb. 21st Top of the Morning in The Natchez Democrat that America is in such a deplorable state, even on down to the local level where we live.
I have been a volunteer at the Natchez Regional Medical Center for 28 years and I know there are many caring employees who are concerned for the health of the patients of the Miss-Lou.
It certainly requires more than enthusiasm and cheering crowds to lead this great country of ours, and I contend that we have the dedication, integrity and vision in President George W. Bush during his presidency, despite constant criticism. I thank God for Mr. Bush’s faithfulness and I believe he is a God-honoring man who prayerfully seeks God’s counsel in making the many complex decisions on behalf of our country. I further believe history will judge him as a fine president, perhaps even a great one.
Our system has not failed us but has helped those who want help and even some who don’t. It isn’t perfect not will it ever be since we humans are involved. America still opens her arms to the legal immigrant who yearns to come here and live and work.
As a sixth-generation Mississippian, I honor our great State of Mississippi, even with our faults and failures and also am so very thankful to be a citizen of the United States of America, which I believe God was instrumental in the foundation thereof.
May He in His long-suffering patience and great wisdom keep her safe from enemies within and without.
Second Chronicles chapter 7 verse 14 states, “If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” May we humble ourselves before God and do just that.
