VIDALIA — A now former employee of the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office was arrested after allegedly sending obscene cell phone messages to a young teenager.

Robert E. Wright Jr., 38, 119 Pecan St., Ridgecrest, was arrested on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile earlier this week.

Wright has served as a prison guard at the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility in Ferriday since August 2006 until recently when the charges were filed against him, and Sheriff Randy Maxwell said Wright was immediately terminated when the alleged victim’s parents contacted the sheriff’s office.

Wright was released on a $30,000 bond set by the Seventh District Judicial Court.
