Neva Dumas

NATCHEZ — Services for Mrs. Neva Wallace Dumas, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. Monday from Zion Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Birdon Mitchell Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Mrs. Dumas was born in Natchez, the daughter of Walter Wallace and Melissa Seals Wallace. She was educated in the public schools of Adams County and was a member of Zion Chapel A.M.E. Church, where she served as an usher and class leader until her health began to fail. Mrs. Dumas was a retired nursing assistant. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry P. Dumas; four brothers, Flynn Wallace, Nathaniel Wallace, Harden Wallace and Willie Wallace Sr.; two sisters, Nannie Butcher and Lucille Causey.
Survivors include one brother, C.P. Wallace and wife, Marguerite; two sisters, Ella Smallwood and husband, Richard, and Roberta Ellis; four sisters-in-law; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
