WINNSBORO, La. — Led by the pitching of Waller (no first name given) and the hitting of Caleb Haring, the Franklin Academy Cougars defeated the Huntington Hounds 9-2 Friday night in MPSA District 6-A action.

Waller was spectacular on the mound for Franklin Academy as he held Huntington (5-7, 1-1) to just four hits in a complete-game performance. The Hounds scored their two runs in the top of the fourth inning.

That cut the Cougars’ lead to 4-2, but they responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings and one in the bottom of the sixth. Haring went 2-for-3 with a double.
