NATCHEZ — Courtney Taylor has joined the advertising staff of The Natchez Democrat as a retail sales representative.

Taylor, who has worked at several downtown Natchez shops, has also worked as a freelance writer and cookbook author.

Her books include “How to Eat Like a Southerner and Live to Tell the Tale” (Clarkson Potter, 1990) and “The Southern Cook’s Handbook” (Quailridge Press, 2001, currently in sixth printing) among others.

Taylor is a graduate of Trinity Episcopal Day School in Natchez and Millsaps College.

She is a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club and served as queen in 1979. She’s also active with the Natchez Little Theatre.
