GREENVILLE (AP) — Mars Food US says it plans a $10 million expansion of its Uncle Ben’s plant in Greenville.
Company officials said Wednesday that the expansion at the rice plant is part of Mars Food’s commitment to economic development in the Delta region.
Mars Foods US president Vincent Howell said in a statement that the expansion calls for building a start-of-the-art facility to increase production capacity for the 90-second Ready Rice line of products and allow increased innovation in other Uncle Ben’s product lines.
The executive Director of the Mississippi Development Authority, Gray Swoope, said the investment is a vote of confidence in Mississippi’s growing economy.
