Fireman’s ball to light up Saturday night

Published 11:25 pm Saturday, March 22, 2008

March 29 is the date for the 11th annual Fireman’s Ball. This year’s ball will feature the band Colorblind from Baton Rouge.

This band will rock the night away to a variety of songs. If you would like to hear them, go online at www.TheBandColorblind.com.

The ball will be at the Natchez Convention Center on Saturday. The band will play from 8 p.m. to midnight with the doors opening at 7 p.m. The Natchez Eola Hotel will be providing the food once again. Budweiser, Coors and Miller Lite will provide the beer and Coca-Cola of Natchez will provide the soft drinks. If you prefer another type of beverage you are welcome to BYOB.

Do not let the name of ball fool you — you can dress up or down. Just come ready to dance and have a great time. Tickets are $20 ahead of time or $25 at the door.

This year’s charities are the Adams County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Guardian Shelter for Abused Women. The Red Cross has a single family disaster relief fund for victims of house fires. The recent headlines show a vital need to put money into this fund. The Guardian Shelter is a place for abused women to get a new start without being afraid. Both of these are very important charities to support.
