MOSELLE (AP) — Authorities say two vehicles were stuck by trains at the same railroad crossing on Monday in separate accidents that killed one person and left another hospitalized.
Sheriff Alex Hodge said a Seminary woman was critically injured when an Amtrak train collided with her Ford Mustang at about 9:46 a.m. on Eastabuchie Road in Jones County.
The driver was not immediately identified. Hodge said she was taken to Forrest General Hospital and was in critical condition on Monday.
At about 4 p.m., the driver of a sports utility vehicle died in a collision with a train at the same crossing. No information was immediately available on the identity of that driver.
