Thanks for helping in Relay egg hunt

The Easter egg hunt on Sunday, March 16, was a huge success. This was Miss-Lou Team Extreme’s first time to handle this event and we would not have been able to do so without the help of the past event coordinator — Charlene Rushing with team A.T.T.A.C.K, whose time and guidance was very much appreciated.
Thanks to the radio stations, newspapers, schools and day cares who helped us publicize this event.
We would like to thank Sheriff Randy Maxwell and the D.A.R.E. driver, Lt. Neil Mohan, who donated his time giving free rides on the D.A.R.E. train.
We would also like to thank the many businesses who donated items for the fundraiser. Wendy’s of Vidalia, Jerry’s Donuts, Lehmann Cash & Carry and Wal-Mart were among those businesses; along with Concordia Bank, Delta Bank and Tensas State Bank who each donated savings bonds. Thanks to those who donated their time — Joanna Whittington, Paige Whittington and Tori Lemoine at the face painting booth; Pam and Phyllis White who baked cakes; Caitlin Dayton and Katie Roberts who helped to hide eggs and the many others who filled and stuffed eggs or baked goodies.
There are so many people and businesses to thank that made this event possible and I apologize for leaving anyone out. A special thanks to Vidalia Lower Elementary School for allowing us to have the hunt at their school, and to Our Lady of Lourdes Relay team for providing the concessions. We also appreciate all of the family members who brought the children to the egg hunt.
Congratulations to all of the winners. God gave us beautiful weather. Our goal was to give the kids a fun filled day while raising money to help the fight against cancer. We had fun and hope you did too. We are looking forward to next year and hope to get even bigger and better.
The money raised from this event will be donated to the American Cancer Society at the Relay For Life that will be on Friday, May 2 on the Vidalia Riverfront.
Come join us there, together we can make a difference!
