FERRIDAY – Services for Tabitha Almedia “Lorene” Evans, 90, of Natchez, formerly of Sicily Island, La., who died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at her residence, will be at 1 p.m. today at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gregory Terrell officiating.
Burial will follow at New Pine Hill Cemetery, in Sicily Island, under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Evans was born Feb. 19, 1918, in Goldonna, La., the daughter of John Thomas Wood and Lillie Effie Maza Wood. She was a resident of Natchez for 40 years. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest L. Evans; one son, Walter Evans; and one daughter, Dorothy Cain.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Evans and wife, Reba, both of Aimwell, La.; four daughters, Thelma Bumpurs and husband, Carols and Elizabeth Brandenburg, all of Jonesville, Elaine Denmon and husband, Frank, both of Gilbert, La., and Tina Cupit and husband, Donald, both of Natchez; one nephew, Joe Wood of Gilbert; and 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Roger Mason, Joe Baldwin, J.R. Smith, Jessie Smith, Benny Brandenburg and Tommy Sprouls.
Memorials may be made to the Martha D. Paul Memorial Scholarship Fund at Delta Bank.
