NATCHEZ — The rising Mississippi River forced work crews to move the Isle of Capri Casino boat about a dozen yards south of its normal location today.
The move was made at approximately noon, Natchez City Engineer David Gardner said.
The National Weather Service has also revised its prediction for how high the river will rise and when it will crest.
The service is predicting the river will rise to 56 feet by the morning of April 15.
Flood stage for the river is 48 feet, and the last time the river reached 56 feet was in 1997.
