WOODVILLE, Texas — Graveside services for Evenly Jo “Jo-Jo” Christina, 84, of Luftin, Texas, who died in Lufkin, Friday, April 4, 2008, will be at 3 p.m. Monday in the Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville, Texas, with the Rev. Andrew Pittman officiating, under the direction of Gipson Funeral Home, Lufkin.
Ms. Christina was born March 20, 1924, in Chester, Texas, the daughter of Ethel (Roper) and Joe Feagin.
She worked in a hospital admitting office and owned the Tot-Teen Shop in Lufkin and Natchez.
She was a homemaker and a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Ms. Christina loved animals, nature and was active at the Senior Citizens Center.
She loved playing bridge and dominoes and was an avid football fan.
Family was important to her and she loved her children and grandchildren dearly.
In her high school years, she played basketball for Chester High School.
Ms. Christina was a member of Lufkin’s First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death were her husbands Anthony L. Christina and Joe Yates and her parents.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Christina of Tampa, Fla., and Joseph F. Christina of Lufkin; one daughter, Carole Ann Ferrell of Natchez; grandchildren, Michael A. Christina II, Robin Finklea, Christina Louise Ferrell Daughtery and Ty Ferrell III; and great-grandchildren, Max Finklea, Caroline Finklea, Mallory Ferrell and Caleb Daughtery.
Pallbearers will be Michael A. Christina II, Sam Finklea, Max Finklea and Ty Ferrell III.
