Fire engine deserves suitable home
Published 11:58 pm Tuesday, April 8, 2008
I write concerning the situation of the grand steam fire engine, which is suffering in that open shed on the highway in Natchez.
I can remember when that engine was polished like a mirror in the Main Street fire house. Then apparently some idiot thought that it would be just great to place it in that open shed on the highway.
This would have been a good idea if the shed had been glass enclosed.
Now the deterioration of this magnificent historic machine is obvious and nobody is saying or doing anything about it. This is a disgrace.
I hope this letter will help to get some action. And, glass enclose that building.
