VIDALIA — Join the Concordia Parish Library at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Concordia Bank lobby in Vidalia for an exciting night of a cappella music with InPulse.
InPulse has launched one of the most celebrated debuts in a cappella history, breaking away from traditional conventions to define the term “Vocal Band.”
This band was named Grand Champion of the 2004 Rocky Mountain Harmony Sweepstakes in Denver, Colo. InPulse continues to amass praise with every performance recently being selected for Mainstage Showcases at the 2007 National Association of Campus Activities (NACA).
InPulse has sold over 17,000 copies of their recordings including debut album “Alone and Above” and a holiday album. Both albums were awarded nominations for Album of the Year by the Contemporary A Cappella Society of America.
InPulse creates a powerful sound that features stunning solos, exceptional harmonic blend, and driving rhythms. Their performances showcase the beauty and versatility of the human voice, drawing from virtually every genre of music. InPulse plays an active part in the evolutions of a cappella music through dynamic, original compositions and inventive arrangements of songs distinctive to the InPulse sound.
The group’s artistic approach leaves little confusion as to their mission: To take the a cappella “vocal band” sounds into mainstream popular music and bring genuine musical artistry to today’s pop culture.
Co-sponsors include Concordia Bank, Comfort Suites Riverfront, Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by Arts Council of Central Louisiana, Louisiana Presenters Network, Southern Arts Federation and Decentralized Art Fund of the State of Louisiana.
They will perform familiar tunes as well as some great new sounds.
