NATCHEZ – Services for James Earl Hooker, 60, of Natchez, who died Monday, April 14, 2008, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Greater Mount Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Williams Mortuary.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Hooker was born Dec. 27, 1947, in Brookhaven, the son of Houston Hooker and Pearl Hooker. He was a 1966 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School. His employment included Diamond International and Holsum Bakery. Mr. Hooker was a Vietnam veteran. He was a member of Greater Mount Sinai Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents, Hosmer and Mosella Cameron and Judge and Rosana Hooker.
Survivors include his mother; one daughter, Joycelyn Yvette Hooker; one son, Markest Rounds; two brothers, Ronell Hooker and Donell Hooker and wife, Maude, all of Jackson; godsister, Tracy Dodd and husband, Vince, both of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren; two aunts, Pearl Black and Gladys Watson, both of Brookhaven; and one uncle, James H. Cameron and wife, Dora, both of Brookhaven.
Pallbearers will be Plevis Brown, Kendrick Cameron, Willie Campbell, Craig Hunt and Gary Knight.
