NATCHEZ — An image of a covered vessel by Natchez artist Conner Burns graced the promotional literature for Geil Kilns 2008. The promotional literature was introduced at the annual meeting of the National Council on Education in the Ceramic Arts in Pittsburg; which was attended by 7,000 clay artists in 2007.
In addition to Burns’ image, there are images by Internationally renowned clay artists, Tom Coleman and Elaine Coleman among others. The selection of the artwork for the poster was based upon “excellence in artwork” stated Tom Coleman.
Burns was present at NCECA 2008 when the Geil poster was introduced. He was present at the Geil Kilns booth to sign posters with Tom Coleman during particular hours of the event.
Geil Kilns is the premier kiln manufacturing company.
Burns’ Natchez Clay studio uses a Geil Kiln to fire the work of all members of the studio.
Burns operates a teaching studio where he holds classes for all levels and hosts workshops.
