JACKSON, Tenn. – Services for David Rogers McNeal, 77, who died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. today at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Charles Whitten, the Rev. Robert Sessions and Jerry Morgan officiating.
Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery under the direction of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home in Jackson, Tenn.
Mr. McNeal was born in Swiftown, the son of Dr. James Samuel and Birdie Inez Jackson McNeal.
Mr. McNeal was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of V.F.W. Post 1848 and the American Legion. He was a retired insurance agent with Liberty National Life Insurance Company. Mr. McNeal was a member of Poplar Heights Baptist Church. He was a wonderful person, generous and kind hearted.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Roselene Melson McNeal; one daughter, Sherry McNeal ; one son, Donald McNeal, all of Jackson, Tenn.; and one sister, Carolyne Griffin of Huntsville, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Perry, Jerry Morgan, Herman Williams, Loyd Melson, Neal Pulley and Lamar Griffin.
Honorary pallbearer will be the Rev. Robert Sessions.
