HARRISONBURG — A Ferriday teen was indicted by a Catahoula Parish grand jury in connection with the March death of a Jonesville 16-year-old.

Donrick L. Washington, 19, 27617 Louisiana 15, Ferriday, was indicted on charges of manslaughter in connection with the March 2 shooting death of Ju’wan Jones, 16, in Jonesville.

Washington was arrested by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office on charges of second-degree murder March 2.

No motive for the killing was established at the time.

An indictment is a legal process by which the grand jury determines if there is enough evidence to take a matter to trial and on what charges.

Court proceedings for the matter have not yet been set by the Seventh Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
