Our community’s natural beauty will come to life this weekend as the Natchez Festival of Music officially kicks off its 18th season.

One of the many interesting events slated for this year’s Festival of Music is the Symphony of Gardens Tour, which begins today and continue through Saturday afternoon.

During the event, participants can tour some of the area’s most beautiful gardens and hear some of the professional singers and musicians entertain as well.

But the garden tours are just one of nearly two-dozen Festival of Music events throughout the month of May.

From the ever-popular “Oklahoma!” musical to solo piano concerts and even a traditional opera performance, the Festival of Music truly has something for everyone.

We hope this year more locals step out of their comfort zones and try seeing a performance or two. We’re sure they’ll have a great time and their ticket prices help support one of Natchez’s most impressive events.

The Festival of Music is a labor of love for the dozens of volunteers who make the event a reality each year.

For 18 years, volunteers have worked hard to bring some outstanding talent to the area and help provide some amazing cultural experiences for thousands of residents, young and old alike.

We know this year’s festival will be among the best ever and we know the music that will be created will rival the natural beauty all around us.
