FERRIDAY – Services for Edena C. Washington, 91, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Promise Hospital, in Ferriday, will be at noon Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church, in Ferriday, with the Rev. T.A. Baker Jr. officiating.
Burial will be at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Washington was born Feb. 15, 1917, in Goodpine, La., the daughter of Isaac and Julian Tillman Campbell. She was a homemaker and a member of Evening Star Baptist Church. Mrs. Washington was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was the church’s secretary.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include four sons, George Campbell and Donell Campbell, both of Ferriday, Jonell Campbell of Denver and Booker T. Campbell of Dallas; six daughters, Amelia Madison of Moline, Ill., Mary Prophet and Shelly Washington of Milwaukee, Wisc., Emma Campbell, Dinah Campbell and Katina Washington, all of Ferriday; 27 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
