NATCHEZ — Three warrants have been issued for the man who allegedly robbed Christine and Henry’s Conoco station with a beer bottle Sunday night.

The man entered the gas station on U.S. 61 North stating he was waiting for a ride.

He reportedly walked to the back of the store and took a bottle of beer from a refrigerated cooler, then walked to the check out counter and struck a customer in the head with the bottle.

He then went behind the counter and demanded the cashier to open the register.

He took a small amount of cash and ran out of the gas station.

Johnathan W. Bates, 40, 352 Greenwood Road, Bogue Chitto, was issued two warrants for Sunday night’s incident — robbery and aggravated assault, both felony.

A third unrelated warrant has been issued and is for misdemeanor simple assault.

Sgt. Craig Godbold said Natchez Police Department believes Bates is currently in Jackson, and the department is still looking for him.

Godbold requested that if anyone has any information regarding Bates whereabouts, they should contact Crimestoppers at 601-442-5000.
