NATCHEZ – Services for Mother Sarah Granger Williams, 95, of Natchez, who died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater New Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Noble officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mother Williams was born March 27, 1913, in Wilkinson County, the daughter of George and Lucy Granger. She was a housewife, joined Oak Grove Baptist Church in Wilkinson Co. and later moved her membership to Greater New Zion Baptist Church where she served on the Mother’s Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, James Granger, George Granger, Joseph Granger, Richard Granger and Herrod Granger; five sisters, Ida Mae Granger, Irene Jones, Elizabeth Lyles, Hannah Williams and Mamie Turner; and grandsons, Percy Traywick, Louis Sullivan, Frank Seymour Sullivan and Harry Brooks.
Survivors include five children, Teretha Sullivan and husband, Frank, Percy Williams, Rosie Brooks and husband, George, Estelle Young and Brenda Robinson; one brother-in-law, Dave Turner; 25 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and 45 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles Sullivan, Henry Brooks, George Brooks, Marcellus Brooks, Marcus Sullivan and Marion Williams.
