Morris Vines

CROSBY – Services for Morris Vines, 90, of Centreville, who died Monday, May 12, 2008, at Wilkinson County Nursing Center, in Centreville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Seal officiating and assisted by the Rev. Steve Purvis.
Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery, near Crosby, under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Gloster.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Vines was born May 11, 1918, in Wilkinson County, the son of C.C. Vines and Lucy Roy Vines. He was a retired oil field pumper. Mr. Vines was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Masons and the Shrine Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gertrude Vines Criswell; three brothers, Littlen “Lit” Vines, Watt Vines and Dennis Vines; two sisters, Myrtis Perry and Wensel Taylor; and great-grandson, Jacob Liberto.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Vine of Centreville and Wanda Lucy Vines of Natchez; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
