Mickens working as intern for May at The Natchez Democrat

Cassandra Mickens is currently working as an intern at The Natchez Democrat

Mickens will be in Natchez for the remainder of May before returning to school at the University of Alabama.

Mickens is a graduate stu-dent pursuing her master’s degree in community journalism.

She will graduate in the fall.

She is a native of Hoover, Ala., and also received her undergraduate degree in journalism from Alabama.

She has worked at the Tuscaloosa News, Essence Magazine in New York and the Selma Times-Journal in Ala-

bama.
