FERRIDAY — Services for Leola Dishmon, 89, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.
Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She was born May 6, 1919, in Ferriday, the daughter of Louis and Carrie Pettiway Smith.
Mrs. Dishmon was a homemaker and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Ferriday Chapter and an usher at St. Paul Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Dishmon, one son, Louis Dishmon and one daughter, Carrie Johnson.
Survivors include one son, William Dishmon and his wife Frances, both of Ferriday; a son-in-law, Sim Johnson of Conyers, Ga.; an adopted daughter, Annie Jackson of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, Andrea Sears of Duluth, Ga., Nicole D. Carter, Quinna Dishmon, Stacey Thomas and Angela Thomas, all of Denver, Co.; other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a devoted cousin, Victoria Taylor of Ferriday; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
