NATCHEZ — Voters from Ward 5 will cast their ballots today in the runoff election between Frances Thompson Bailey and Mark Fortenberry.

Up for grabs, a chance to advance to the next round in the race for a seat on the Natchez Board of Aldermen.

In the May 6 primary election Fortenberry took 48.9 percent of the votes while Bailey racked up 40.1 percent.

City clerk Donnie Holloway said voting in the Ward 5 runoff will start at 7 a.m. at the National Guard Armory on Liberty Road.

Polls close at 7 p.m.

The winner of today’s election will then run against Republican Charles Zuccaro on June 3.
