NATCHEZ – Services for Jerome Chatman, 57, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Daughter of Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. D.W. Howard officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Chatman was born Feb. 15, 1951, in Natchez, the son of Louis Chatman Sr. and Gloria Johnson Chatman of Natchez. He attended Daughter of Zion Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father; nephew, Louis Chatman III; and grandparents.
Survivors include his mother, Gloria Johnson Chatman; two sons, Jay Washington of Urbandale, Iowa and Jerome L. Chatman Jr. of Pascagoula; three brothers, the Rev. Louis Chatman Jr. and wife, Minister Callie Chatman, both of Montgomery, Ala., Amos Edward Chatman and David Chatman and wife, Vivian, all of Natchez; two sisters, Joann Givens of Pascagoula and Mary Thompson and husband, Willie, both of Natchez; seven nephews, Timothy, Jerome and Jim’Le Chatman, all of Alabama, Christopher Lee, Ricky Lee and Jerry Givens, all of Mississippi, Curtis Minor of North Carolina; two nieces, SFC Curtistine Chatman of Virginia and Oranell Chatman of Natchez; three aunts, Safronia Chatman, Mary Lee Chatman, both of Natchez, and Annie Drummonds of Maywood, Ill.; two uncles, the Rev. Nathaniel Chatman of Natchez and Frank Chatman of Indianapolis, Ind.; a devoted friend, Betty Chatman of Pascagoula; and a number of cousins, great-nephews, great-nieces, other family and friends.
