NATCHEZ — The Natchez power grid is back online after Tuesday night’s power outage, Entergy supervisor Travis Leggett said.

“Everything is just like it was except that the sleeves have been replaced,” he said, referring to the piece that malfunctioned and caused a power outage for a large portion of the town.

One of sleeves that hold the power lines together gave out causing Tuesday night’s blackout. All three sleeves were replaced and sent to a lab to determine what went wrong, although it will be some time before the results are known.

The first concern of the power company is public safety and downed power lines are a hazard to the public Leggett said.

“Hopefully we won’t have this happen again,” he said.
