JACKSON (AP) — Two men charged with the stabbing death of a woman lived in the same neighborhood as the victim, police said.

William Roy Jones Jr., 29, and Darrell Walker, 40, were charged with capital murder in the slaying of Juliet Lilly, a 52-year-old nurse found with her throat slashed at her home Wednesday.

Acting on tips, police arrested Jones early Friday where he was visiting someone, police said. Walker had been arrested late Thursday on a domestic violence charge.

The two shared a house off just blocks from Lilly’s home, police said.

Police now believe Jones and Walker broke in to Lilly’s house Tuesday and returned later, Assistant Police Chief Gerald Jones said Friday. Lilly had complained of break-ins at her house April 20 and again Tuesday, police said.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart said Lilly had been dead about 24 hours when a co-worker found her body near the back door. She lived alone and had no family in the area.
