NATCHEZ – Services for Delores “Lo Jean” Kingsberry, 68, of Natchez, who died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at New Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Kingsberry was born Dec. 17, 1939, in Natchez, the daughter of Eliza Bernard Wright and the Rev. Grover Brannon. She was a private duty nurse and a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father; stepfather, Abe Wright; one son, LaVon Kingsberry; two sisters, Gloria Riley and Annie Brannon Stewart; one brother, Ronnie Wright; and former husband, James Kingsberry.
Survivors include her mother of Natchez; three children, Rita Ransom and husband, Cordell, and Gary Kingsberry, all of Natchez, and Terris Kingsberry of New Orleans; two sisters, Brenda Simpson and husband, Clarence, and Louise Lyles and husband, Frank, all of Natchez, three brothers, Kenneth Wright of Natchez, Kenneth Brannon and wife, Vanessa, both of Vidalia, and Oliver Brannon of Baton Rouge; one aunt, Louise Page and husband, Fred, both of Natchez; one uncle, Olive Bernard of Manhattan, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one goddaughter, Violet Thompson of Natchez; friends, Delores Bassett and Gwen Singleton, both of Natchez, and Roxanne Green of Texas.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Hargrave, Teddrick Hargrave Sr., Robert Kingsberry, Michael Bradley Jr., Ronnie Page and James Stewart.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Montgomery Jr., Stephen Kingsberry and Diane Kingsberry.
