Lubie Calcote

NATCHEZ – Services for Lubie Ceola Calcote, 72, of Natchez, who died Friday, May 30, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at New Hope Baptist Church with Bishop Stanley Searcy officiating.
Burial will follow at Leesdale Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Calcote was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Church Hill, the daughter of Charlie McCoy and Lubie Johnson McCoy. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a private duty nurse.
Mrs. Calcote was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Wesley Calcote; one sister, Roxetta McCoy Evans; and two brothers, Billy McCoy and Joseph McCoy.
Survivors include two daughters, Bertha Young and husband, James, both of Natchez, and Katie Bell and husband, Lee, both of Vicksburg; four sons, Pastor Leonard Calcote and wife, Paula, both of Vicksburg, Johnny Calcote and Michael Calcote and wife, Linda, all of Natchez, and Pastor John Glen Calcote and wife, Brenda, both of Baton Rouge; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Henrietta McCoy, Lizzie B. Banks and Mary Alford, both of Los Angeles; one brother, Emmett McCoy of Natchez; one stepson, John Hawkins; one stepdaughter, Juanita Noah; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be William Campbell, Gerald Clay, Clevonne Jackson, Johnny Morgan, Wilbert Riggs and Jesse Turner.
