NATCHEZ — It was not the burglar who did the grabbing at Cedar Hurst apartments Tuesday.

A burglar reportedly stuck his arm and head into the apartment only to be greeted by the hands of the resident who grabbed his arm, a Natchez Police Department report said. The burglar then fled the scene when the resident grabber his arms.

A nearly identical break-in also occurred in the Cedar Hurst apartments Tuesday. However, in this case the resident was not home and a bottle of cough syrup was stolen.

In both cases the plastic slider on the window screen was cut.
