Hattie Jackson

NATCHEZ – Rosary services for Hattie M. Jackson, 76, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, June 1, 2008, in Fayetteville, Ga., will be at 10 a.m. today at Holy Family Catholic Church followed by a funeral mass.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of Lanus Holmes Sr. and Sarah Holmes. She was a retired nurse assistant. Mrs. Jackson was an active member of Knights of Peter Claver, Ladies Auxiliary Father Morrissey Court No. 9. Mrs. Jackson was also a member of H.R. Marshall/Sr. E. Brinkley Chapter No. 44, 4th degree Knights of Peter Claver, Ladies of Grace.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by two sons, Clarence Jackson and Pete Jackson; and her mother.
Survivors include one son, Cortez Dixon Jr. and wife, Catherine, both of Arlington Heights, Ill.; one daughter, Lawanda Wideman and husband, Fred, both of Fairburn, Ga.; four grandchildren, Terrell Chatman and wife, Ebony, Dana Dixon, Kimberly Dixon and Nailah Wideman; three great-grandchildren; lifelong friend, Pete Odum; her dearest friend, Ora Frazier; her father; three siblings, Mary Edith, Joyce and Lanus Holmes Jr.; one aunt, Sister Mary Bonaventure; and a number of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
