SUV pulled out of river

VIDALIA — A Silver Escalade was pulled out of the Mississippi River on the Vidalia Riverfront around 7 p.m. Saturday.
Hooked to the back of a tow truck from Curtis Wrecker Service, the silver SUV looked almost black from being caked in mud.
Several windows had been smashed out, denoting a rough stay in the Mississippi.
Though found in Vidalia, since the car was in the river, the duty got shifted to Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Kathleen Stevens, public information officer for the sheriff’s office, said the key was found in the vehicle.
She said it’s registered to a resident in Germantown, Tenn.
She said the matter is still under investigation.
