Congressmen won’t fix gas prices

Ms. Kathy Sills asked us in a recent letter to the editor to keep complaining about gas prices. Her suggestion was to “write your congressman again and again.”
Ms. Sills, your congressmen are exactly the problem!
If you recall, Nancy Pelosi said if we would elect a Democratic Congress — and we did — that they would bring these high gasoline prices down because they had “a common sense plan to make this happen.”
Well, when she made this statement gasoline was $2.50 per gallon. Now it is over $4 per gallon and headed for $5 per gallon. How do you think their Democratic “common sense plan” seems to be working? I would say not very well.
So, the Democratically elected congress — the men you want us to complain to Ms. Sills — has actually caused prices to rise drastically. How did they do this? They voted to prohibit environmentally sound drilling for oil, and instead voted for the United States to continue to be held hostage to foreign oil and foreign hostile dictators. Right now the Chinese (at the behest of the Cuban government) are drilling for oil just 90 miles south of Florida. But our congressmen have said U.S. Oil companies cannot drill for known reserves off of most of the entire American coast line, as well as huge reserves located in Alaska, because they deemed it not environmentally sound.
At the end of Ms. Sills letter she poses the question, can anyone stop this madness of rising oil prices?
Yes, your congressman can.
To accomplish this feat, we need to first vote those idiots in congress out of office. The ones up there now are the ones that are keeping us hostage to oil producing countries and governments that hate us.
There are billions and billions of barrels of oil under the land and waters of this good ole U.S.A. that are proven reserves.
Complaining to those bureaucratic nincompoops in our present congress will do you no good.
