BATON ROUGE – A memorial mass for Ilene Byrne Parker, 75, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, June 9, 2008, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., Baton Rouge.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Parker was a graduate of Louisiana State University and attended Barry College in Miami.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Eleanor Celeste Parker.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, J. Peyton Parker Jr.; two daughters, Sharon Talley and husband, Patrick, both of New Orleans, and Deborah Gibbs and husband, Vance, both of Baton Rouge; one son, Peyton R. Parker and wife, Judi, both of Ashland City, Tenn.; one sister, Eleanor Byrne Merrill of Sarasota, Fla.; two brothers, Donald Byrne and wife, Barbara, both of Natchez, and Richard Byrne and wife, Sandra, both of Crockett, Texas; eight grandchildren, Elisa Gibbs, Parker Gibbs, Martha Gibbs, Sarah Ilene Talley, Patrick Talley III, Peyton Joseph Talley, Peyton Aaron Parker and Jessie Parker; and one great-granddaughter, Sadie Parker.
The family would like to thank all of her attending doctors, especially Dr. Roy Kadair, and the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Vital Source Hospital and Hospice of Baton Rouge.
